the great game of imagination

IMG_9813.JPGthese two are the ones that can always make me smile. pure joy in two tiny condensed packages that somehow wormed their way into my life as my little sister and brother. i’m sure they don’t know that every time i feel unhappy or unloved, this image pops into my head, but it does, and it forever will. i’m sure they don’t know that when i’m at work, holding the lifeguard buoy, i always think of this moment and smile. they’re just two raggedy little summer children, pretending to be the lifeguard on duty and looking up at me with mischievous happiness. but they’re mine.
